- 2 Firm felt sheets
- Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
- Pencil needed for making lines to cut
- Ruler to measure
- Sharpie in red and pink
- Embroidery floss
- Self sticking Velcro
- Self sticking felt hearts
- Paint chip cards
- Iron on letters
Take one piece of the firm felt (9 x 12) and fold so that its measures 9 X 5 on the top This top piece will be your flap and beneath will be the envelope. Using the flap, mark the center at the bottom and trace a line on both sides to create your angles. I just eyeballed it. Cut along the lines to create your flap. Set aside.
Take the second piece and fold in half as well and cut along the fold creating a half piece. Using a medium size bowl I trace a semi circle at the top of the half piece of felt you just cut. This will be your pocket. Hot glue this piece to your envelope.
To make your stitching lines I made a dot with the sharpie ever inch then drew a line connecting two dots.
I added the felt hearts on the tip of the flap to conceal the velcro underneath that is fastening it.
Cut out the name or initials from the iron on transfers and place them on the flap evenly. Using a hot iron roll over until all letters are stuck in place. Peel the backing off to reveal the letters.
I finished by using embroidery floss as ribbon, tucking it under the flap and securing it with the self sticking felt hearts.
These are the finished ones I made for my two kids. So each day until Valentine's Day I put a little note with a goodie.
